CHARLES CITY, Iowa – Election night results show Frank Rottinghaus is the winner in the race to fill the District 2 seat on the Floyd County Board of Supervisors.

A special election was called after Supervisor Dennis Keifer, 73 of Charles City, died on June 10.

Unofficial results from Tuesday have Rottinghaus winning with 275 votes, just edging out Joshua Neupert and his 273 votes. Aaron Hobert received 132 votes and Douglas K. LIndaman got 24 votes.

The Floyd County Auditor’s Office says 21.91% of eligible voters cast a ballot on Tuesday.

The election results won’t become official until they are canvassed at the next meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
