LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A dream that has been years in the making is now even closer to reality.

Churchill’s Lighthouse , a sanctuary for unhoused women and teens in Louisville, is nearly done with the renovation of a home in the Shawnee neighborhood.

The Churchill's Lighthouse Home will ultimately become a safe haven for pregnant women and teens experiencing homelessness.

“I'm trying not to get emotional because God gave me this vision in 2017," said Sherri Churchill, founder and executive director. "And here we are, 2025. ... I know when you do the drywall, then you start the painting and then everything else comes into fruition."

"To be here today and to see how far it's come along, it is such a blessing, and I'm so excited. Oh, I cannot wait. Oh, my gosh."
