Three people were shot at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Dallas, and the gunman died from a self-inflicted wound, officials said.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a post on X that the shooting happened Wednesday morning at the Dallas ICE detention facility.

“Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities, ” Noem wrote.

She said the motive is not yet known but confirmed the suspect died by suicide.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told CNN three people had been shot and were taken to a hospital.

Sources told the network two of the victims were detainees.
