ENTERPRISE-Incumbent Enterprise Mayor William Cooper has been re-elected. Cooper defeated challenger Bill Baker with 55% -- 2,263 -- of the votes to Baker's 1,839 votes, or 45%.

Voter turnout was stronger than in the Aug. 26 election with 4,102 people out of 22,000 registered voters casting ballots in Enterprise Tuesday to decide the mayor’s race.

The City Council will meet at noon on Sept. 30 at the Enterprise Civic Center to canvass and certify the election results. Cooper, District 1 Councilwoman Sonya Rich, District 2 Councilman Casey Mack, District 3 Councilman Greg Padgett, District 4 Councilman Scotty Johnson, and District 5 Councilman Todd Walz will all be sworn in at a special organizational session Nov. 3 at the Enterprise Civic Center.
