ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota law enforcement is intensifying efforts to remind drivers about the critical importance of seat belt use and proper child seat installation. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says this initiative coincides with National Child Passenger Safety Week from September 21-27. Minnesota law mandates specific age requirements for rear- and forward-facing car seats, booster seats, and seat belts, based on the child's size and the car seat manufacturer's guidelines. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be present at Car Seat Check Events statewide to assist families.
