A man has been charged with possession of explosives after a house explosion and fire left one person seriously hurt, killed a dog, and destroyed a home in Dartmouth, Massachusetts , earlier this month.

Kevin Ruiz, 54, of Dartmouth, will be summonsed to court on charges of possession of explosives, possession of component parts capable of creating a destructive/incendiary device, wanton destruction of proprty over $1,200, and disturbing the peace.

Dartmouth police and fire responded around 12:57 a.m. on Sept. 2 after multiple 911 calls describing an explosion at a home on Sagamore Drive. First responders arrived to heavy fire and explosions coming from the garage.
