Ford has recalled more than 115,000 trucks that may have a faulty steering column upper shaft , which could result in loss of steering control.

Ford Motor Company recalled 115,539 2020-2021 F-250, F-350 and F-450 trucks because the steering column upper shaft may detach, which could lead to a loss of steering control, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall report dated Sept. 19 and posted this week. Ford estimates that only about 1% of eligible models have the defect.

As of Sept. 11, Ford was aware of three NHTSA Vehicle Owner Questionnaires , seven warranty claims, three field reports and four costumer hotline calls that were potentially related to the recall, according to the report. These 11 reports were received between Sept. 15, 2020 a
