The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was alerted around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday of a man from Davenport, Iowa, in need of rescue.
The man used a tourniquet and bandaging to stop the bleeding while he waited for help. He was eventually brought to Cook Hospital due to his injury.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is reminding people to be properly prepared with first aid supplies when entering the BWCA, since medical resources are not readily available.
