Two detainees at an ICE field office in Dallas were killed and another was wounded after a gunman opened fire at the facility from an adjacent building.

The Dallas Police Department said that one person was killed in the shooting while another two individuals were taken to the hospital. NBC News subsequently reported that a second detainee had died. Dallas police said the shooting occurred at about 6:40 a.m. local time.

"The preliminary investigation determined that a suspect opened fire at a government building from an adjacent building," police said.
