How does a team score 111 points in their first three games and have a record of 1-2? I’ll tell you — because head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Zach Orr go into a prevent defense. They let the Lions score 17 points in the fourth quarter (“ Ravens’ defense exposed again as it searches for old identity ,” Sept. 23). And don’t forget the Buffalo game two weeks ago, when the Ravens had a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter and gave up 16 points with just six minutes left to lose the game.

We have seen this in past years and in important playoff games. The Ravens do not play to the end of the game. Why would they not do what got them their fourth-quarter advantage? Most NFL teams have abandoned the prevent defense. But not good ol’ Harbaugh and now Orr. They are like 10-year-
