GEORGIA. (WRBL) — The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed three new cases in the state on Tuesday.
Health officials say the individuals are close contacts with the measles case that was confirmed on Sept. 11, with two of them being unvaccinated, while the third person's vaccination status remains unknown.
The individuals affected are currently home and in isolation.
DPH says as of Wednesday, there are 268 close contacts of the confirmed cases that have been identified with seven of those affected currently enrolled in active monitoring.
The health department urges health care providers to maintain a heightened awareness for patients with measles.
There are now 10 confirmed cases of measles in the state this year.
