The fictional scene in Tempest, the show which has been sweeping viewership, led to some real-life consequences, with many Chinese social media users expressing their anger online, saying that the line mischaracterised their country. Many even called brands to sever ties with the actress, who is considered one of the biggest stars in the South Korean entertainment industry.
