After weeks of passionate voting and musical debate, the Desert Sun’s Paul McCartney bracket song contest has reached its grand finale. The fans have spoken, and the winner is the timeless ballad “Yesterday," which claimed victory with 64% of the vote in the championship round against “Hey Jude.”

The contest, launched in anticipation of McCartney’s Sept. 29 tour kickoff at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, invited readers to vote on 16 of the legendary musician’s most iconic tracks. Over four rounds, fans narrowed the field through head-to-head matchups, culminating in a showdown between two emotional powerhouses: “Yesterday” and “Hey Jude.”
