The state traffic commission has agreed to a Little Compton request to reconfigure Commons Street, turning two legs of the triangular-shaped street that loops around the Commons from two-way to one-way, and changing the parking configuration.
“Parked vehicles present a safety concern for motorists traveling through the area,” Sean Raymond of the State Traffic Commission wrote in a letter written to Police Chief Scott Raynes and the town council.
Under the reconfiguration plan, Commons Street to the east of Commons will remain a two-way, but will become a one-way street to the north and south of the Commons.
