Comedian Reggie Carroll has died at the age of 52 following a shooting in Mississippi last week, the Southaven Police Department said in an update shared on its Facebook account Saturday (August 23).

Carroll, a Baltimore native, was identified as the "one male victim" found by police "suffering gunshot wounds" last Wednesday (August 20).

"The officers and medical personnel provided life saving techniques but the individual succumbed to his injuries," the department said.

Police confirmed that a suspect was arrested in relation to Carroll's murder, though their identity hasn't been released publicly.
