Former President Joe Biden is currently undergoing radiation and hormone therapy to treat an aggressive form of prostate cancer, according to a spokesperson. Biden aide Kelly Scully confirmed the treatment plan on Saturday, stating, "As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment."

The 82-year-old Biden left office in January after he withdrew from the reelection race six months earlier. His decision followed a challenging debate against Republican Donald Trump, which raised concerns about his age, health, and mental fitness. In May, Biden's post-presidential office announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which had metastasized to his bones. This diagnosis came after he reported experiencing urinary symptoms.

Prostate cancer is assessed for aggressiveness using a Gleason score, which ranges from 6 to 10. Scores of 8, 9, and 10 indicate more aggressive forms of the disease. Biden's office reported that his Gleason score is 9, categorizing his cancer as one of the most aggressive types.

In addition to his cancer treatment, Biden underwent surgery last month to remove skin cancer lesions from his forehead. The ongoing health challenges have drawn attention to Biden's overall well-being as he navigates his post-presidential life.
