BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWQC) - A Burlington man facing felony meth charges after a traffic stop was also part of an investigation into a drug network in Burlington.
After Richard Nelson, 45, was pulled over for tinted windows, a K9 “alerted” to drugs, and 2.98 pounds of meth were found in the vehicle on Tuesday evening, according to court documents.
Nelson told police in an interview that he bought the 2.98 pounds earlier in the day to sell it, according to a news release from the Des Moines Sheriff’s Office.
Nelson was also being investigated by the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force for his involvement in drug network operating in Burlington, police said.
As part of that investigation, police searched the camper on the 6200 block of 108th Avenue, police said.
