SAN MARCOS, Texas — There are more police on the Texas State University (TXST) campus than usual on Wednesday, officials confirmed to KVUE.

Turning Point USA at Texas State University – the campus chapter of the nonprofit co-founded by Charlie Kirk – announced that conservative activist Chloe Cole is set to speak at the LBJ Ballroom on the San Marcos campus on Wednesday.

KVUE asked if the university planned to increase security in response to the event, and Texas State responded that, "There is increased police presence on the TXST San Marcos Campus due to multiple events today (9/24) in the LBJ Student Center. There is no active threat to the campus at this time."
