The Provincial Medical Health Services Association (PMHSA) in Uttarakhand has threatened to launch a State-wide protest unless the administration withdraws its unilateral action against doctors at Bageshwar District Hospital.

According to the PMHSA on July 10, 2025, a child in critical condition, suffering from brain fever, was brought to the District Hospital at 6 PM. The child was examined by Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) Dr Bhupendra Ghatiyal, who then called paediatrician Dr Ankit Kumar, who was on rounds at the hospital. Both doctors immediately attended to the child. Due to the child’s critical state and the hospital’s limited resources, they referred him to a higher centre.
