LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - (Update - 1:45 p.m.): A man was arrested after he was accused of shooting his mother.

Beve Dewayne Begley, 39, of London, was charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault - first degree, five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and discharge of a firearm.

After police said Begley left the scene, he returned a short time later.

After they arrived on scene, police found Begley standing on the front porch near the pistol he had reportedly used in the shooting.

Once Begley was taken into custody, police found his mother in the home with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Police said they also found one family member and another person who had been wounded. One of them had severe injuries to the head from being struck with the pistol.
