NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A woman has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in New Orleans.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, officers responded to the 300 block of North Rampart Street around 12:20 p.m., where they found an unresponsive man inside a hotel room. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

NOPD officials said the case was initially being investigated as an unclassified death but was reclassified as a homicide after the man "was found to have sustained possible blunt force trauma injuries."

During the investigation, NOPD detectives said they identified 38-year-old Feliciana Winniford as a suspect and obtained a warrant for her arrest on a charge of second-degree murder.
