LICKING COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) released eight safety recommendations Wednesday related to the deadly Tusky Valley bus crash.
The crash on Nov. 14, 2023 killed three students, two chaperones and one teacher from Tusky Valley Middle-High School.
The NTSB has taken lead on the investigation since then, reviewing trucks, motorcoaches and traffic incident management.
In a news release, the NTSB pointed to driver inattention as the cause of the crash.
The students were riding in a motorcoach on the way to a school performance in Columbus when the bus was rear-ended by a semi.
That triggered a chain reaction involving three additional vehicles, including one transporting the three chaperones.
