The Natchez-Adams School District says a bomb threat was called in to Natchez High School during a scheduled Homecoming Safety Plan meeting on Wednesday. Officers already on campus were joined immediately by additional law enforcement agencies, according to a district statement signed by T. Fields.

District officials report all students are safe, and dismissal is proceeding as planned on the regular early release schedule. Administrators said they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

“We appreciate the community’s cooperation and support in keeping our schools safe,” the statement said.

This is a developing story; updates will be shared as they are made available by the district and law enforcement.
