PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After a 5-year-old girl was shot and killed by her 9-year-old brother in south Phoenix earlier this year, the children’s dad has now been indicted.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced the indictment of Irvin Ramos-Jimenez, 33, on Wednesday. Ramos-Jimenez is charged with one felony count of child abuse and a domestic violence offense. He’s also facing a felony charge for unlawfully possessing a firearm.
In June, officers were called out to a home near Sixth Avenue and Wier Avenue , which is south of Broadway Road, because Ramos-Jimenez initially told investigators that his daughter, Layla Ramos, had been stabbed.
While police were headed to the scene, they learned Ramos-Jimenez had driven off while rushing Layla to the hospital. Police found them
