A western Pennsylvania school board member is under fire, and faced death threats after an innocuous Facebook post was mistakenly taken as celebrating the assassination of far-right activist and podcaster Charlie Kirk.
According to the Indiana Gazette in Indiana County, Homer City school board member Misty Hunt has been the target of complaints and threats after she posted, “One down, hundreds to go,” on Sept. 10, the same day Kirk was shot and killed in Utah.
Hunt, though, said the post was supposed to be accompanied by a video, which failed to load, highlighting her distribution of milkweed seeds to promote monarch butterfly habitats, reported the Gazette.
The newspaper reported that Hunt said she was unaware of Kirk’s murder because she was visiting family and had bad cell service
