A 92-year-old man thought to be behind the 1989 disappearance of 17-year-old Tracy Kroh has died in prison — just as arrangements were being made to release him from prison to a long-term care facility.

Mark Warfel died in SCI Laurel Highlands Sept. 11, according to court filings by Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo.
