MADISON (WKOW) -- U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) was in Madison Wednesday discussing the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Pocan says that prices are about to go up for a lot of people.
Premium tax credits for the ACA are expected to go up in early to mid-October, according to Pocan.
Pocan blamed the expected increase on Republicans' plan to raise health care costs and President Trump's major spending bill.
"The shutdown, if they choose to have it, which seems like by how they're operating, does have negative impacts. But at the same time, we're trying to fight for people on who lost their health care," said Pocan.
On the other side of the aisle, Republicans are blaming Democrats, saying they're making demands that would dramatically increase spending.
