No question, the Colorado volleyball team put together a more competitive and encouraging start to the season during nonconference play.

Still, the competition the Buffs faced during the first three weeks of the season was a far cry from what they will encounter in Big 12 Conference play. And, despite a 9-0 mark that matched the best start in program history, the Buffs received a rude awakening when greeted by tougher competition last week, as Colorado State swept them during a home-and-home series.
