SPRINGVILLE – A Springville man is facing a felony charge of intimidation after he allegedly threatened his father with a two-by-four. The incident, which highlights long-standing family issues, also led to an emergency detention order for the son, who police believe may be a danger to others.

The case began on September 9, 2025, when the father reported to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that his son, Matthew William Jordan, 39, had become aggressive and had kicked him out of the family home. According to the police affidavit, the father told dispatch that his son had threatened to “hit him with a 2X4” if he tried to re-enter the residence on Cobb Lane.
