NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Nashville’s chief development officer is stepping down from the mayor’s office.

Bob Mendes says he’ll be leaving his position in October.

Mayor Freddie O’Connell says Mendes worked toward ensuring the community’s vision for the East Bank and that Mendes worked on the project to reimagine the Rivergate Mall.

Mendes was previously an at-large Metro Council member. He says he will be returning to the private sector.
