MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - The mayor of Murfreesboro is calling for new leadership at Middle Tennessee State University.

Mayor Shane McFarland made the leadership-changing comments during his weekly Facebook chat.

McFardland said he was happy with how MTSU’s president, Sidney McPhee, handled the situation involving a professor who allegedly made insensitive comments about Charlie Kirk’s death, which led to their firing.
