PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- With spooky season beginning for many attractions on Friday, the Illinois Department of Labor is working hard to make sure safety isn't something participants should have to worry about.
Tragic fires in the 70s and 80s have caused more restrictions and safety requirements on these attractions, a release from IDOL said.
IDOL's Carnival Division Manager Brian Fox walked with a WMBD reporter through Aura Haunted House in Bartonville to show what exactly they are looking for to keep people safe.
One of the first things Fox said they look for when inspecting a haunted house is smoke detectors.
