Jason Minor is rising early these days as he pursues a new project after years of managing sit-down dinner restaurants and nightlife venues.
On Sept. 17, the general manager at Black n Bleu Restaurant in Hampden Township opened Poached at the former Diener’s Restaurant at 135 W. Main St. in Mechanicsburg.
He teamed up with Black n Bleu owner Doug Smeltzer.
“I personally always wanted a breakfast-lunch spot,” Minor said. “I’m finding it’s totally different from what I’ve been doing the last 30 years.”
The venture is well-timed, as more diners are flocking to breakfast/lunch concepts such as The Turning Point and First Watch.
As more people watch their spending, price points are likely motivating the morning crowds, Minor said.
