Doja Cat will not be delving into country music anytime soon.
On Sept. 21, the “Kiss Me More” singer appeared on CBS Mornings , where journalist Michelle Miller brought up the idea of artists dabbling in different genres and bringing back old trends.
“I think that coming out of the ’90s, there was a hope for the future and artists were doing everything and playing a lot with irony,” Doja said. “It’s just gotten more and more ironic over the years, like rappers wearing skirts ... rappers wearing skirts is a big one, and dresses — like that was being in touch with their feminine side.”
Miller brought up genres like pop, rap, jazz, and R&B, a lot of which Doja Cat has done before, as she then asked the “Paint The Town” singer what genre her music doesn’t reflect.
Her answer? “Country,”
