A seven-year-old girl who was stabbed in the arm, leg and head said her attacker went on a rampage inside a Kitchener home.

“There was blood everywhere,” the girl told police from a hospital bed three years ago.

She identified her attacker as Dylon Moreira. She said she witnessed Moreira also stab his girlfriend, Vanessa Legate.

“He started stabbing her,” the girl told police in a video viewed in a Kitchener courtroom Wednesday. “Dylon just snapped.”

Legate died of her wounds. The girl, now 10, has needed surgeries to repair her arm. Three years later, her leg is still healing.

Moreira, 33, is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
