Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, a nationally recognized trial lawyer, is representing the family of the man who died after riding a thrill coaster at Universal Epic Universe.
Crump held a public news conference on Wednesday, detailing the investigation into Kevin Rodriguez Zavala's death.
Although 32-year-old Zavala used a wheelchair, Crump said that was not the cause of his death.
"He was just fine," Crump said.
Crump said Zavala was assisted in getting onto the ride by Epic Universe employees, who never stated that he wasn't allowed to ride the coaster.
Crump said it would be an insult to suggest that his disability is what caused him to die. He also said Zavala didn't have any medical emergency.
Although Epic Universe officials said the ride didn't suffer any malfunctions, Crum
