MONTEVALLO, Ala. —

Did you know there is a new replica of Independence Hall in Alabama?

It's opening in American Village, which is in Montevallo.

The replica is modeled after the Philadelphia landmark and is designed to bring visitors closer to the symbols that built America.

Leaders are excited for students from Alabama and surrounding states to visit the exhibit.

"We will get students from all surrounding states, not just the state of Alabama," said Alan Miller. "We get students from as far away as the Florida Panhandle. So it's a great experience and a great tool for teachers, not just in Alabama, (it's) a benefit to teachers and students throughout the Southeast."
