Jennings man accused of setting house on fire with two people inside

JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH - A man is accused of setting a house on fire while two people were inside.

At 6:17 a.m. on Sept. 22, the Jennings Fire Dept. responded to a house fire in the 700 block of Garage Alley, according to the State Fire Marshal’s office. A man and woman were inside the home at the time of the fire, however both escaped unharmed.

State Fire Marshall deputies determined the fire was intentional and identified Jamaric Ralpheal Alexander as the suspect.

On Sept. 24, Alexander was arrested on a count of aggravated arson.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office thanked the Jennings police and fire departments for their swift response and support in this case.
