ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — This week, President Trump promoted unverified links between Tylenol and autism, claiming that the use of the medication during pregnancy is the direct cause of the disorder.

But according to multiple local professionals, while several studies have been conducted, it was premature and even dangerous for the president to insist pregnant women avoid the fever-reducing medication.

“It was premature to come out and say that we have found this link because they haven't found a link,” said Katherine Ott, Director of the Ontario County Public Health Department.

On Tuesday, representatives from health organizations across Monroe County said three health care providers are uniting to respond to the claims.
