ANSONIA, Conn. (WTNH) — State leaders helped seniors find the resources they need during the Senior Resource Fair on Wednesday.

More than 35 organizations showcased what services are available in Connecticut to seniors, caregivers and families.

This included non-profits, state and local agencies, and businesses who offered a helping hand at the event.

"This is really about saying.. 'Hey, how do we make it easier for our neighbors to navigate all of this complex stuff?'" state Rep. Kara Rochelle (D) of Ansonia said. "We want our seniors to have a one-stop shop."

During the event, there were also free health screenings and an on-site vaccination clinic.

"It's important that folks don't get lost in the system— that they're able to find things easier," Rochelle said.
