Passengers at Perth Airport have been evacuated after fire alarms were triggered and smoke was detected.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman confirmed they received a triple-0 call that reported the smell of smoke was coming from level two at the airport.
The spokesman said fire crews were on their way but were stood down, as crews at the airport handled the emergency situation.
A Perth Airport spokesman said a smoke alarm was activated within terminal one and passengers were evacuated just before 3pm on Tuesday.
“Following an investigation by Emergency Services, the terminal commenced reoccupation (about 10 minutes later).”
Hundreds of passengers were forced to exit the airport during the incident while emergency crews checked the terminal.
