An annual group bicycle ride is devoted to a late Chandler-area rider — as his Chandler-resident father and a nonprofit try to keep memories and a push for greater safety alive.

The Rob Dollar Memorial Foundation works to raise awareness around the dangers of cycling, but more importantly, according to a news release, what the community can do to keep riders safe.

That foundation’s 2026 version of its signature annual event is set to happen in late October.

The eighth annual Rob Dollar Memorial Ride is set for Sunday, Oct. 26 in Phoenix. The ride honors Dollar, who was tragically killed by a motorist in 2017.

Rob’s father John, a Chandler resident, started the ride and the foundation to bring to light the issue of bike safety and road awareness.
