LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new report revealed thousands of people across Louisville regularly struggle to pay their utility bills.
The 2025 report by the Metropolitan Housing Coalition analyzed the impact of rising energy and water bills for Louisvillians.
The Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance said the highest energy burdens are in central and west Louisville where the energy use intensity is up to three times higher than in other areas.
The research showed low-income residents and communities of color are disproportionately affected.
As for the cost of water, Louisville ranks in the top 20 most expensive metro areas in the nation for water-related expenses.
