HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- 62-year-old Tracy Thompson of Houston is stepping into her "golden era" on the new season of the hit reality show, The Golden Bachelor.

Morning Anchor Rita Garcia sat down with those closest to her, including her son, Cortland Cicardo.

"She's at a point in her life where she finally gets to focus on herself, and it's not about pleasing the rest of the family. It's finally getting the opportunity to live her life, take risks, venture out there, and do what she wants to do." Cicardo said.

He also added that it's not just showtime, it's her time. Tracy is one of 23 golden ladies vying for a rose in Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor.

When asked about whether she believes in love at first sight, Cortland said, "I think she believes in attraction at first sight."
