TAMPA, Fla., (WFLA) - In August, 8 On Your Side reported a story of how two Tampa Police Officers ran into a burning home and pulled a man out. On Wednesday, they both received awards for their heroic actions.

The award ceremony took place at the Tampa Convention Center.

Both officers said they did not think twice about running into the home that night, their only thought was they needed to get everyone out alive.

At the packed award ceremony, both officers were met with rounds of applause and Medals of Valor for saving the 72-year-old man.

Officer Mark Neptune's body camera footage from August 9 shows him and the victim's family talking right before he went into the burning home. The victim's sister shouts that her brother is still inside, in the living room.
