Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has disclosed details about his first face-to-face chat with US President Donald Trump ahead of his upcoming visit to the White House.
A bilateral meeting between the Australian and US leaders has been secured after months of speculation , with the October 20 date revealed on Wednesday during Mr Albanese’s trip to New York.
The Prime Minister and President Trump also had a brief in-person encounter at the United Nations reception, and Mr Albanese has since described the chat as “very warm”.
“We had a very warm and engaging chat,” the Prime Minister told reporters.
“I tend not to broadcast private discussions, but it was very warm. And we look forward to a further discussion in a few weeks’ time.”
Mr Albanese shared a selfie of himself with the command
