New Jersey is bracing for several batches of rain showers and occasional thunderstorms with strong gusty winds Wednesday night and throughout much of the day on Thursday.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say scattered showers should develop late Wednesday afternoon, with more widespread showers and thunderstorms expected by late evening.
