FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Washington County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday for the brand-new Emergency Operations Center in Fayetteville.
According to a February press release, the center aims to enhance the county’s coordination of emergency response efforts.
The release says the new facility will serve as a hub for emergency management operations, allowing Washington County to remain prepared to respond to natural disasters, public safety incidents and other emergencies.
"We just want to be prepared," said Washington County Judge Patrick Deakins. "This building has all the redundancy in the work in it to make sure that we're allocating our emergency resources as efficiently as we can."
