SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - The South Carolina Office of Resilience is opening four new offices across the Upstate to help communities with recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene.
On Wednesday September 24, the Region 2 office in Spartanburg opened, and will serve residents in Spartanburg, Laurens, Union, Chester, York, and Cherokee counties.
Kevin O'Dell, the Public Information Coordinator for the Office of Resilience, said opening the new offices allows them to better reach residents in need of assistance.
"We'll be able to address a lot of unmet needs caused by Hurricane Helene," O'Dell said. "From a disaster case management perspective, those needs can vary greatly. They can be housing related, they can be physical, financial, or even emotional."
