SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Four people are facing murder and assault charges after a man was discovered at a Sioux Falls park in early September and later died from his injuries.

According to authorities, on September 5, at around 8:53 a.m., Sioux Falls police were dispatched to Cherry Rock Park off of East 18th Street for a check wellbeing call.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 51-year-old Thomas Fernandez with visible injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Through an investigation, four suspects were identified and arrested.

25-year-old Donovan Birdnecklace Pigney, 24-year-old Tiana Herrera, 30-year-old Chaska Littlebear, and 33-year-old Al Pigney are all currently lodged at the Minnehaha County Jail.
